An Ashanti queen of the 12th century that was chosen to be gate keeper of the Golden Stool which is akin to saying she protected the establishment of authority. She then became the Commander in Chief of the Ashanti army and led rebels against the British. The Anglo-Ashanti wars 5th and final war against the British is known as the War of the Golden Stool.
